Warranty Policy:

Warranty Policy

Effective Date: 30 June 2026

At 3D Print It, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship and the products we manufacture. This Warranty Policy explains the warranty we provide, how to make a warranty claim, and how it interacts with your rights under New Zealand law.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits, excludes, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other applicable New Zealand law.

1. Scope

This Warranty Policy applies to all products manufactured and supplied by 3D Print It, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

It covers products manufactured from:

  • customer-supplied files;
  • custom designs;
  • commissioned designs;
  • standard products sold by 3D Print It.

2. Our Workmanship Warranty

We warrant that products manufactured by us will be produced using reasonable care, skill, and accepted industry practices.

If a product has a manufacturing defect that arises from our workmanship, we will assess the issue and, where appropriate, provide a remedy in accordance with this policy and applicable New Zealand law.

Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:

  • repair;
  • replacement;
  • reprinting;
  • refund.

The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the issue and your legal rights.

3. What Is Covered

This warranty generally covers defects caused by our manufacturing process, including:

  • incorrect material supplied by us;
  • significant manufacturing defects;
  • production errors that differ materially from the approved design;
  • workmanship issues that prevent the product from performing as reasonably expected.

Each warranty claim is assessed individually.

4. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover issues arising from:

  • incorrect customer-supplied files;
  • design errors;
  • incorrect dimensions specified by the customer;
  • poor model design;
  • unsuitable wall thickness;
  • unsupported geometry;
  • customer-selected material that is unsuitable for the intended application;
  • ordinary wear and tear;
  • accidental damage;
  • misuse or abuse;
  • improper storage;
  • modification after delivery;
  • exposure to excessive heat, UV light, chemicals, or moisture beyond the material’s intended use;
  • use outside the intended application;
  • cosmetic characteristics that are normal for additive manufacturing.

Examples of normal manufacturing characteristics include:

  • visible layer lines;
  • support removal marks;
  • seam lines;
  • slight colour variation;
  • minor dimensional tolerances;
  • minor surface texture variations.

These are not considered manufacturing defects.

5. Functional Parts

Customers are responsible for determining whether a printed part is suitable for its intended application.

Unless expressly agreed in writing, our products are not certified for:

  • life-support systems;
  • medical implants;
  • aviation safety systems;
  • structural engineering applications;
  • critical automotive safety components;
  • any other safety-critical use.

Customers should independently test functional parts before relying on them in operational environments.

6. Consumer Guarantees Act

If you purchase goods or services for personal, domestic, or household use, you may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 that cannot be excluded.

Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, your statutory rights take precedence over this Warranty Policy.

If you acquire goods or services for business purposes, and both parties agree in writing, the Consumer Guarantees Act may not apply to the extent permitted by law.

7. Warranty Claims

If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering the issue.

To help us assess your claim, please provide:

  • your order number;
  • a description of the issue;
  • clear photographs of the product;
  • photographs of any damaged packaging (if applicable);
  • any other information reasonably requested.

We may ask you to return the product for inspection before determining the appropriate remedy.

8. Assessment

Once we receive your claim, we will assess whether the issue is due to:

  • manufacturing workmanship;
  • customer-supplied design;
  • misuse;
  • accidental damage;
  • normal characteristics of the printing process;
  • another cause.

Where appropriate, we may consult material manufacturers or technical specialists.

9. Remedies

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, we may choose an appropriate remedy consistent with New Zealand law, including:

  • repairing the product;
  • manufacturing a replacement;
  • reprinting the item;
  • refunding the purchase price.

The remedy provided will depend on the nature and severity of the issue and your legal rights.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, 3D Print It is not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • loss of profit;
  • business interruption;
  • loss arising from customer-supplied designs;
  • costs associated with removing, reinstalling, or integrating printed components into other systems.

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

We may update this Warranty Policy from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our Website.
